According to the Telegraph report, Pakistan spent approximately 18 billion Pakistani rupees for the Champions Trophy and it spent this amount for the renovation of three stadiums in Rawalpindi, Lahore (Gaddafi Stadium), and Karachi. This cost turned out to be 50 percent more than what the PCB had estimated.
After this, Pakistan spent 40 million dollars on the preparations of the event, but its earnings turned out to be like salt in the flour. PCB earned only 6 million dollars. It earned this from ticket sales and sponsorship.

About Rs 560 crore was spent on the renovation of the stadiums, which was more than half of their original budget. The remaining Rs 347 crore was spent on other preparations for the tournament. However, PCB earned only Rs 52 crore from hosting fees and ticket sales. Thus, PCB suffered a loss of approximately Rs 739-740 crore.. A major international cricket tournament was organized in Pakistan after 29 years. PCB was hoping that it would earn a good income from this tournament. But, the result turned out to be the opposite.
