The Sydney Thunder secured a stunning two-wicket victory over the Adelaide Strikers, thanks to an explosive innings by Daniel Sams. The Australian all-rounder completely flipped the game during the chase, rescuing his team from a tough situation and putting on a masterclass in power-hitting under pressure.
Chasing 183, the Thunder were struggling at 149 for 7 after 18 overs, needing 34 runs from the last two overs. Sams smashed Lloyd Pope for an incredible 31 runs in the 19th over, including three sixes and three fours, leaving just three runs to get in the final over. He sealed the victory with two balls to spare, remaining unbeaten on 42 off 18 balls and earning the Player of the Match award for his match-winning knock.
