India secured a spot in the Champions Trophy final by defeating Australia by four wickets in the semi-final held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on March 4, 2025. Australia, opting to bat first, posted a total of 264 runs, with notable contributions from Steve Smith (73) and Alex Carey (61). India's bowling attack was led by Mohammed Shami, who took 3 wickets for 48 runs.
In response, India chased down the target, reaching 267 for 6 in 48.1 overs. Virat Kohli anchored the innings with a composed 84 runs, while Shreyas Iyer added a valuable 45. Despite losing early wickets, Kohli's experience and partnerships with the middle order ensured India's progression to the final.
India will face the winner of the semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand in the final.
