Can CSK still reach the IPL 2025 playoffs after losing to SRH?: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have lost seven matches in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). They suffered a five-wicket defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday (April 26). Chennai now has just four points from nine matches. They are at the bottom of the points table. However, Chennai is still not out of the playoff race. They have to win their remaining five matches and hope that other results also go in their favor.
The MS Dhoni-led side can reach a maximum of 14 points. They will need a strong net run rate to make it to the IPL 2025 playoffs. After the number of teams is reduced to 10, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is the only team to qualify for the playoffs in 2024 with 14 points.

CSK will first have to try to win all the remaining matches. Even if they win all five matches, they will get 14 points. 14 points is hardly enough due to poor net run rate. The team will have to register big wins in their remaining matches. Hopefully some teams do not go beyond 12 points. CSK will have to hope that teams like Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants do not win more than two of their remaining matches. Another defeat will knock Chennai out of the IPL playoff race.
