Injury and Workload Management: Green returned to bowling in competitive cricket after undergoing back surgery last year. He played for Western Australia in the opening Sheffield Shield round against New South Wales in Perth last week and also missed the T20I tour of New Zealand due to this reason.
Green was scheduled to bowl eight overs during the match, but he only bowled four. Cricket Australia's medical staff did not allow Green to bowl two consecutive days. Due to his early dismissal in Western Australia's first innings, he did not have a full day's rest between four-over spells, which is why precautions are being taken to manage his workload.
