The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and the preceding three-match ODI series against England. Rohit Sharma will captain the team, with Shubman Gill serving as vice-captain.
Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who suffered back spasms during the final Test against Australia, is included in the Champions Trophy squad, contingent upon his recovery. For the ODI series against England, Harshit Rana has been named as his replacement.
Veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami makes a return to the squad after an extended absence due to an ankle injury sustained during the 2023 ODI World Cup final.
The squad also sees the inclusion of Shreyas Iyer, with KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant designated as the wicketkeeping options. Notably, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, who were rested for the T20I series against England, are back in the lineup.
India's campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy is set to commence on February 20 against Bangladesh, followed by group-stage matches against Pakistan and New Zealand.
