BCCI announces India 15-member Test squad, Rishabh Pant to return

India vs South Africa Test Serie: The Indian team for the Test series against South Africa has been announced. Shubman Gill will lead the team. Rishabh Pant has also returned as vice-captain.

BCCI announces India 15-member Test squad, Rishabh Pant to return

The Indian team will soon return to Test cricket. India and South Africa will play a two-Test series, the first of which will be played in Kolkata on November 14th. Meanwhile, the BCCI has announced Team India for this series. Rishabh Pant has returned to the team. However, there are not many changes to the team. Shubman Gill will once again lead the team. Rishabh Pant has been reappointed vice-captain.

Rishabh Pant's return after injury -

The Indian team played its last home series against the West Indies. The team performed exceptionally well in that series. Since that series, two changes have been made to the team. Rishabh Pant was injured during the England series and was therefore out of the team. During this time, Dhruv Jurel took over wicketkeeping duties. N. Jagadeesan was also included in the team as a backup keeper. Now that Jagadeesan is out, Pant has returned in his place. Pant will now be the first-choice wicketkeeper. Dhruv Jurel could be given a chance as a batsman.

Prasidh Krishna out, Akashdeep returns -

Another change has been made to the bowling attack. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been dropped from the team this time. Akashdeep has been included in his place. Akashdeep has also returned. Prasidh is currently part of the India A team, so he has not been selected in this squad. The rest of the team will remain the same as for the West Indies series. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul will once again open the innings. Akashdeep will lead the fast bowling attack alongside Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah.

India vs South Africa Test Series Schedule

The first match of the India vs. South Africa series will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata from November 14th. The second match will be played in Guwahati from November 22nd. This series will be crucial as these matches are part of the World Test Championship, making it a crucial series. The Indian team currently sits third in the World Test Championship points table. They will aim to win both matches and further increase their lead.
