The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the formation of a special committee to investigate serious allegations of sexual harassment made by former Bangladesh women’s team captain Jahanara Alam against former chief selector and team manager Manjurul Islam. The committee has been instructed to submit its findings and recommendations within 15 working days.

In an official statement, the BCB said
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed concern over allegations of misconduct by certain individuals associated with the national women’s cricket team, as raised by a former player. Given the sensitivity of the matter, the BCB has decided to form a committee to investigate these allegations. The committee will submit its findings and recommendations within 15 working days.
The board further added:
The BCB is committed to ensuring a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all its players and staff. The board takes such matters very seriously and will take appropriate action based on the committee’s findings.
Jahanara’s Serious Allegations
In an interview with journalist Riyasad Azeem, Jahanara Alam revealed that team manager Manjurul Islam had behaved inappropriately with her. She alleged that Manjurul
would touch her shoulders without permission
made personal comments that made her uncomfortable,
and attempted to hug her instead of shaking hands, even in the presence of other players and officials.
Jahanara said she reported the matter to former BCB director Shafiul Islam Nadel and BCB’s CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
Jahanara Alam’s Cricket Career
Jahanara Alam is one of the few Bangladeshi women cricketers to have participated in international T20 leagues. She represented Bangladesh in India’s Women’s T20 Challenge and the FairBreak Invitational T20 tournaments.
