Bangladesh will take part in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Even though there have been political tensions between India and Bangladesh recently, officials have confirmed that Bangladesh’s World Cup matches in India will go ahead as planned.

The confusion started after the BCCI put India’s tour of Bangladesh on hold due to the current political situation. The issue also affected the IPL, where Kolkata Knight Riders released Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman following instructions from the BCCI.

However, a senior BCCI official has made it clear that ICC tournaments will not be impacted. Bangladesh will be allowed to play their scheduled matches in India during the T20 World Cup.
