Australia won the toss and bowled first: Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and elected to bowl first in the first T20I against India. Suryakumar said he would have preferred to bat first on this pitch. Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Jitesh Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, and Nitish Reddy are not playing for India in this match.
India's Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the first three matches of the five-match T20I series against Australia. The all-rounder, who is recovering from a left quadriceps injury sustained during the second ODI in Adelaide, complained of neck spasms. The BCCI medical team is monitoring his progress.
