Australia has unveiled its squad for the two-Test series in Sri Lanka, commencing on January 29. Steven Smith will lead the 16-member team, stepping in as captain for Pat Cummins.

Pat Cummins, the regular skipper, will miss the series to be with his family for the birth of his second child and recover from an ankle injury. Promising all-rounder Cooper Connolly earns his maiden Test call-up, while Nathan McSweeney makes a return.

As per Reports, Travis Head is likely to open to encounter the pace in beginning of the innings while players who are good at spin may bat a little down the order. To tackle the spin-friendly conditions in Galle, left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann joins Todd Murphy and Nathan Lyon, forming a formidable spin attack for the series.
