Australia highest successful chase Women’s ODI: Australia created history on Sunday by achieving the highest target in ODI history in the Women's ODI World Cup. In the match played in Visakhapatnam, the Indian team had set a target of 331 runs for Australia, which they achieved by losing seven wickets with one over remaining.

The record for the highest successful run chase in ODIs was held by Sri Lanka, who achieved a target of 302 runs against South Africa in 2024. For Australia, captain Alyssa Healy continued her excellent form with an explosive 142, while Phoebe Litchfield (40), Ellyse Perry (47*) and Ashleigh Gardner (45) made significant contributions.

Ellyse Perry retired hurt midway through the innings, but she returned at a crucial moment to help Australia reach the target. Healy and Litchfield laid the foundation for the team with a quick 85-run partnership, after which Healy and Perry kept the pressure on the Indian bowlers. India tried to make a comeback in the match after Perry retired hurt.

Amanjot Kaur caused a stir by dismissing Gardner and Molineau in consecutive balls, but Perry's calm batting and Cam Garth's sensible batting kept Australia on course for victory. India fielded superbly, but their bowling lacked sharpness. Healy's century undid all India's efforts, and Australia secured another memorable victory. This was India's second consecutive defeat.

Mandhana-Pratika partnership goes in vain -

Invited to bat first, Indian openers Smriti and Pratika gave the Australian bowlers no chance. They provided the team with a solid start with an opening partnership of 155 runs in 24.3 overs. Both batsmen relied more on timing and shot selection than power-hitting, resulting in a strong partnership.

Mandhana reached her half-century in 46 balls, while Raval reached his in 69 balls. Mandhana and Pratika also recorded their sixth century partnership in ODIs, just one short of India's record of seven century partnerships. This record is now held by Poonam Raut and Mithali Raj. However, their partnership also failed, and Australia won.
