Australia Bowl Out WI for 27, Seal 3-0 Test Series Win

Just a few hours after the exciting match between India and England at Lord’s, Australia made history at Sabina Park in Jamaica. They bowled out West Indies for just 27 runs, which is the second-lowest score in Test match history. Australia closed a 3-0 series sweep with this victory.

Starc Destroys West Indies Batting

To win the game, the West Indies needed to score 204 runs. But fast bowler Mitchell Starc had other plans. He took 6 wickets and gave West Indies a nightmare start. He claimed three wickets without conceding a run in his opening over: Brandon King, Kevlon Anderson, and John Campbell.

In his 3rd over, Starc then removed Shai Hope and Mikyle Louis. Starc became the fastest bowler in Test history to take five wickets at the beginning of an innings with West Indies at 7/5 after taking five wickets in just 15 deliveries. In addition, he joined Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, and Nathan Lyon as the only other Australians to reach 400 Test wickets.

Boland’s First Test Hat-Trick

At 22/6 after the first session, the West Indies were having trouble. Then Scott Boland came to bowl. He removed Shamar Joseph, Jomel Warrican, and Justin Greaves in three balls in his second over. He became the 11th Australian to achieve his first Test hat-trick.

West Indies narrowly missed setting a new record for lowest score. With a final score of 27, they achieved their lowest-ever Test score. The only team to perform worse is New Zealand, who scored 26 runs against England in 1955.

Australia’s Second Innings Ended Quickly

Australia's 2nd innings ended suddenly earlier in the day. Shamar Joseph bowled Cameron Green on the opening delivery of the day. He had scored 42 runs. Alzarri Joseph also took wickets, including Australian captain Pat Cummins. After 121 runs, Australia was out.

Even though this was not a big total, Australia’s strong bowling made it more than enough to win.

Australia Tops the WTC Table

This was Australia’s third win in a row in the new World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle. They are now at the top of the WTC standings, looking strong for the future.

In Summary
