Australia has announced its team for the ODI and T20 International series against South Africa. Australia and South Africa will play three T20 Internationals and as many ODIs from August 10. Matt Short has returned to the team. Mitchell Owen has got a chance in the ODI team for the first time. He recently impressed everyone with his strong performance against West Indies. Mitchell Marsh will lead the ODI team.
After the West Indies series, the Australian team has dropped several players from the team. Sean Abbott, Jack Fraser McGurk, Tanveer Sangha, Cooper Connolly and Aaron Hardy have also been dropped from the team. The Australian team will focus on preparations for next year's T20 World Cup.
The Australian team is preparing for the T20 World Cup and the way the team showed depth and flexibility in the West Indies is very positive. It was great to see the ability to change the batting order and bowl at any time in the innings.
