Australia squad announced for T20 series against Pakistan: Australia has announced a 13-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20 series against Pakistan. The series between the two teams will start in Brisbane from November 14. Australia has to play a five-match Test series against India after this, so it has rested Test specialists against Pakistan. Fast bowlers Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis and Spencer Johnson, who is returning from injury, have been included in the team for the series against Pakistan.
Australia's regular limited overs captain Mitchell Marsh and Test captain Pat Cummins are in Perth to prepare for the Test series against India, so Australia will have to appoint a new captain against Pakistan. Limited overs veterans Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa and wicketkeeper batsman Josh Inglis are also present in the team. Inglis is the only member of the team who is in the race to join the Kangaroo team for the Test series against India.
With experienced players like Maxwell, Inglis, and Zampa in the team, there are many options to lead Australia for the T20 series against Pakistan. Maxwell has captained the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League and has experience of leadership, while Zampa's international experience and Inglis' recent form make him a contender to become the captain. The first match of the series between Pakistan and Australia will be played on November 14 at the Gabba in Brisbane, while the remaining two matches will be played in Canberra and Hobart respectively.
