Asia Cup to be held in UAE from September 9-28, confirms ACC President Mohsin Naqvi: The men's Asia Cup T20 tournament will be held in the UAE from 9 to 28 September. This has been confirmed by Asian Cricket Council President Mohsin Naqvi. The venue was decided in the ACC meeting on 24 July. All 25 member countries participated in the meeting.
India participated virtually in the Asian Cricket Council meeting held in Dhaka. There was a lot of uproar about the meeting as well. After becoming the President of the ACC, Naqvi had become arbitrary and was pressuring India to send someone to the meeting in Dhaka, Bangladesh. However, the BCCI had made it clear that it would not send any official to Dhaka. After this, Pakistan came to its senses.
Asia Cup 2025 Host Nation: The BCCI is the host of this tournament, but it is being organized in the United Arab Emirates because due to cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan, both the countries have agreed to compete only at neutral venues till 2027. As per the ACC's agreement with the broadcasters, India and Pakistan will be in the same group and may get another chance to play against each other in the Super Six stage. If both teams reach the final, there is a possibility of a third match as well.
Its schedule has not been released yet. According to media reports, the schedule may be released soon. With this, the wait of the fans to watch the India-Pakistan match will also end. The format of this tournament is such that both the teams can clash more than once. This will be the 17th season of Asia Cup. This tournament was earlier played only in ODI format, but now the format of this tournament is decided by looking at the format of the World Cup to be held next year. Next year, the T20 World Cup is to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
