Asia Cup 2025: The team will be announced on the 19th for the Asia Cup-2025 to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) next month. Before this, a big news has come for India which is about fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer. There have been many questions about Bumrah's workload and that is why he did not play the last Test match against England at The Oval.
Shreyas Iyer, who has been a reliable middle-order player in the Indian team along with Test captain Shubman Gill and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, is likely to be ignored for the upcoming tournament.

The Asia Cup will be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28. The tournament will be played in T20 format. Sources said, Bumrah has told the selectors that he will be available for the Asia Cup. When the selection committee members meet next week, they will discuss this.
If sources are to be believed, Bumrah has informed Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar that he is available for Asia Cup-2025. Bumrah has told that at this time he does not have any kind of fitness problem and he is ready to play in this tournament. This time the Asia Cup is to be played in T20 format because the T20 World Cup is to be played next year.
The newspaper has written quoting sources, "Bumrah has told the selectors that he will be available for the Asia Cup. The selection committee will meet next week and discuss this matter."

Will Shreyas Iyer play in Asia Cup 2025?: Ahead of the tournament, sources have revealed that star batsman Shreyas Iyer will not be a part of the Men in Blue squad.
Iyer, who has been a reliable middle-order player in the Indian team along with Test skipper Shubman Gill and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, is likely to be ignored for the upcoming tournament. It is believed that the team management is hesitant to look beyond the current combination, which includes in-form batsmen like Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma.
“Yes, the squad for the Asia Cup will be selected on August 19 in Mumbai. Chief selector, former Indian pacer Ajit Agarkar will hold a press conference after the selection committee meeting,” the Times of India reported on Thursday, citing a source. In fact, India want to stick with the opening pair of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, but Gill is currently struggling to find a place in the team. Even Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had a brilliant series in England, and middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer are unlikely to be selected in the T20 squad.
If the report turns out to be true and Iyer is ignored again, it will be another heartbreak for the player as he was also not selected for the recently concluded England Test series.
