Many bowlers performed brilliantly in the ICC WTC. Some of these bowlers performed brilliantly in every series and became the highest wicket-takers in the tournament. Bowlers took more wickets than me in ICC WTC 2023-25, in which the top five highest wicket-takers include three Australian and two Indian bowlers. Of these, three are fast bowlers and two are spinners. In this connection, let's take a look at the list of top 5 highest wicket-takers in ICC WTC 2023-25.
Australia captain Pat Cummins has become the highest wicket-taker in the WTC 2023-25 final against South Africa. Overall, Cummins finished his championship with 80 wickets in 18 Tests at an average of 23.48 and six five-wicket hauls, the most among all bowlers in the championship. Pat Cummins led Australia to their second consecutive WTC final. The fast bowler took 25 wickets in just five matches in the series against India and 19 wickets against Pakistan at home during the 2023-24 season.
Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah finished the WTC 2023-25 cycle in style and was its best bowler. Crossing the career milestones of 150 and 200 wickets during the two-year cycle, Bumrah picked up 77 wickets in just 28 innings
The Indian pacer also maintained a controlled average of 15.09, which is the lowest among all bowlers to have taken more than 50 wickets, let alone above 75. Moreover, Jasprit Bumrah's strike rate of 30.67, which is the best among all bowlers to have taken more than 50 wickets, ensured that Team India was always in search of wickets. In the five Tests of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, the 31-year-old picked up 32 wickets in just nine innings at an impressive average of 13.06.
Australian pacer Mitchell Starc took 77 wickets in 19 Tests of WTC 2023-25, five of which were taken in the high-octane final match against South Africa at Lord's in London in June 2025. Starc's dangerous pace troubled the Indians during the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series on home turf, where he picked up 18 wickets, even bagging his career-best figures of 6-48 at the Adelaide Oval.
The legendary Australian pacer also became the highest wicket-taker for England in the 2023 Ashes, taking 23 wickets in just seven innings at an impressive average of 27.08.

Nathan Lyon finished the WTC 2023-25 cycle as the most successful spinner with 66 wickets in 30 innings of 17 Tests. Although the veteran Australian failed to make a mark in the final against South Africa, Lyon played an influential role in leading his team to the title clash. His match-winning figures of 10-108 in both innings of the Wellington Test against New Zealand in February 2024 put Australia 1-0 up in the Trans-Tasman Trophy. Nathan Lyon took 14 wickets in just two Tests in Sri Lanka earlier this year and played a key role in Australia's 2-0 series win.
Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 63 wickets in 14 Tests of WTC 2023-25 and then retired from international cricket in the final stages of this cycle. The cricketer achieved an impressive bowling average of 24.55, the second-best among all spinners with 50-plus wickets after teammate Ravindra Jadeja. Ashwin took five five-wicket hauls in the process, including two wickets taken at the start of India's WTC 2023-25 campaign in the West Indies in July 2023 and three more match-winning wickets against England (twice) and Bangladesh at home in 2024.
