The final match of the T20 World Cup 2024 played between the Indian team and South Africa was very exciting. The Indian team had given a target of 177 runs, in response to which the African team could score only 169 runs and lost the title.

There were many occasions in this match when the title seemed to be going out of the hands of the Indian team. But there were also 5 such moments when the Indian team put in full force and turned the tables. Be it the catch of Suryakumar Yadav or the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya. Let us know those 5 occasions when the Indian team turned the whole game around.

5 game-changing moments in India's T20 World Cup win

1. Heinrich Klaasen's wicket was the biggest turning point

In response to the target of 177 runs, the African team sometimes took control of the match and sometimes looked like losing the match. But when Heinrich Klaasen stood at the crease, the situation looked different. Klaasen played a fiery innings of 52 runs in 27 balls. He hit 5 sixes and 2 fours. Due to Klaasen's innings, the African team scored 147 runs for 4 wickets in 15 overs.

Then Africa needed only 30 runs in 30 balls to win and they had 6 wickets left. Klaasen and David Miller were at the crease. But in the 16th over, Jasprit Bumrah gave only 4 runs, which created pressure. Then on the very first ball of the 17th over, Hardik Pandya got Klaasen caught out by Rishabh Pant. Then from here the whole game turned and the African team came under pressure.

2. Virat Kohli-Axar partnership

After winning the toss and batting first in the final, the Indian team had lost 3 wickets for 34 runs at one point. It seemed that the team might collapse soon. But Indian captain Rohit Sharma sent Akshar Patel at number five over Shivam Dubey, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja and his move proved to be very effective.

Virat Kohli, who was at the crease, had already taken charge of the front. Then he along with Axar made a partnership of 72 runs for the fourth wicket and took the team to a big score. Kohli scored a fifty in 48 balls. This was his first fifty in this World Cup. Kohli scored a total of 76 runs in 59 balls. While Axar got out after scoring 47 runs in 31 balls. Due to this, Indian team made a match winning score of 176 runs for 7 wickets.

After Klaasen's wicket fell, Pandya, Bumrah and Arshdeep created such pressure that the African team was badly shattered. Pandya gave only 4 runs by taking 1 wicket in the 17th over. Then Bumrah bowled the 18th over and he took Marco Jansen's wicket. He gave 2 runs by taking 1 wicket. The 19th over was very special, in which Arshdeep Singh gave only 4 runs. This is where the foundation of India's victory was laid.

4. Hardik Pandya's last over

The African team needed 16 runs to win in the last over. But captain Rohit had only Pandya in fast bowling, who took 1 wicket in the over and gave only 4 runs. Then Bumrah bowled the 18th over and he took Marco Jansen. He took 1 wicket and gave 2 runs. The 19th over was very special, in which Arshdeep Singh gave only 4 runs. From here the foundation of India's victory was laid.

5. Surya Kumar took a brilliant catch

If we talk about India's victory and do not talk about Suryakumar Yadav's catch, it would be unfair. When Pandya came to bowl the last over, Miller was at the crease, who was playing after scoring 21 runs. Miller hit an aerial shot towards the boundary at long off on the very first ball. But Surya came running there and took a brilliant catch.

Surya caught the ball inside the boundary and threw it in the air. Then he came back to the field and caught it. Whoever saw this catch was stunned. This was the catch that hunted Miller and opened the doors to India's victory.
