India tour of Australia, 2024: The 2nd Test of the 5-match Test series between India and Australia will be played today on 6th December at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide, Australia at 09:30 AM (IST).

India will take on Australia in the second match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Adelaide Oval from Friday, 6 December. The visitors are leading the series 1-0 after a stunning win in the first Test in Perth. Rohit Sharma, who could not play in the first Test, has returned to the team and will take over as captain in place of Jasprit Bumrah. Shubman Gill, who scored a half-century in the pink ball tour match against the Prime Minister's XI, has also been included in the playing XI. Australia will be without fast bowler Josh Hazlewood as he suffered a side strain during the first Test. Scott Boland will replace him in the team.

The Adelaide Oval pitch for the Pink Ball Test is expected to be flat for both sides. There will be 6mm of grass on the surface on the first day, but the track will wear out as the game progresses. The pink ball moves a bit initially, especially in bright sunlight.
However, the time after sunset is the most challenging for batsmen due to changing light. Fast bowlers will have an advantage in this session. The team winning the toss will want to bat first

However, the weather is expected to clear by the time of toss, 2 pm Adelaide Time (9 am IST). The weather is expected to be partly cloudy over the five days (December 6 to December 10), with maximum temperatures going up to 31 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures dropping to 13 degrees Celsius.
