Bangladesh have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series after a thrilling 7-run win over West Indies in the first match played at Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown. In the first T20 match, Bangladesh scored a competitive 147 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs, with Soumya Sarkar leading the side with 43 runs. Akeal Hosein and Obed McCoy bowled brilliantly for West Indies and took two wickets each.

However, Mahedi Hasan's exceptional bowling of 4 for 13 turned the match in Bangladesh's favour. The second T20 match will be played on the same ground on December 18.
