India is in full swing after winning the 2023 World Cup for the tenth time in a row. At the Wankhede in Mumbai, India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs to win the first semi-final. India chose to bat first and scored 397/4. Virat Kohli achieved a record-breaking fifty-score. Shreyas Iyer struck a fantastic 105. Shubman Gill scored eighty without losing. Tim Southee scored 3/100 for NZ.
In reply, Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell scored 181 runs after New Zealand lost two wickets in short succession. Mitchell scored 134, while Williamson scored 69. Mohammed Shami responded, finishing in 9.5 overs with a record 7/57. With this decisive victory, India advanced to the fourth ODI World Cup final, following 1983, 2003, and 2011. On Sunday, Australia and India will compete in the final.

At the current ODI World Cup, India's 397/4 total is the third-highest. 410/4 against the Netherlands in 2023 and 413/5 against Bermuda in 2007 continue to be their greatest results. Tim Southee scored 100 runs off just three scalps. He is now the second bowler from New Zealand to give up 100 runs or more in a World Cup innings, according to ESPNcricinfo. In 1983, M Snedden gave up 105 runs against England. Trent Boult, meanwhile, let up the highest runs in a game (86) throughout his ODI career.
Mohammed Shami reported an incredible 7/57. He set a record for the quickest 50 ODI wickets in the process. Shami surpassed Mitchell Starc, who needed 19 innings, to reach the milestone in just 17 innings.

In One-Day Internationals, Shami has the greatest bowling returns for India. Stuart Binny's records of 6/4 against BAN in Mirpur in 2014 and 6/12 against WI in Kolkata in 1993 were surpassed by him.
In the ODI World Cup, Shami won his second fifer against New Zealand. With it, he became the second bowler after Starc to have two WC fifers against the Kiwis.
In this World Cup, Shami recorded his third five-wicket haul. He is the first player in a World Cup edition to have three five-wicket performances.
With 578 runs, Rachin Ravindra concluded his World Cup campaign. Mitchell, the centurion, scored 552 runs in the interim. They join 2019's 578-run scorer Kane Williamson. These three Kiwi batsmen have scored more than 550 runs in a single World Cup.
