8- In October 2019, Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 254 against South Africa in Pune, which is the highest Test innings by an Indian captain until July 3, 2025.

7- Shubman Gill scored 269 off 387 balls against England at Edgbaston and is now the highest individual innings by an Indian captain in Tests.

6- In April 2004, former Indian captain and former Indian head coach Rahul Dravid played an innings of 270 runs against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.
