Google’s video streaming platform YouTube suddenly stopped working on Thursday morning, affecting millions of users around the world. According to the website Downdetector, the problem started around 5:23 AM (Indian time), and more than 3.4 lakh (340,000) users reported issues within minutes.
YouTube Stops Working in Many Countries
This became one of YouTube’s biggest technical problems in recent months. Users in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and many other countries faced similar issues.
According to Downdetector
- 56% of users could not stream videos properly.
- 32% faced problems using the YouTube mobile app.
- 12% were not able to open the website at all.
Many people said their videos were not loading, search results were missing, and comments were not showing. Some users even found themselves logged out automatically, while others saw error messages on the homepage.
Problem Fixed, YouTube Back to Normal
YouTube has not given any official statement yet about why this happened, but the good news is that the issue has now been fixed. The platform is working normally again, and users can stream videos without any problems.
#YouTubeDown Trends on Social Media
As soon as YouTube went down, the hashtag #YouTubeDown started trending on X (formerly Twitter). Many users shared screenshots of the errors and posted funny memes. Some content creators said they were unable to upload or schedule videos because of the issue.
Everything is Fine Now
The outage didn’t last long, and now YouTube is back to normal in all regions. Incidents like this show how much people depend on YouTube — not just for entertainment, but also for work, learning, and daily updates.
