Cooking gas has become more expensive across India as the prices of LPG cylinders have been increased from March 7. The price revision affects both domestic consumers and commercial users, adding to the monthly expenses of households as well as businesses.

Why Have LPG Cylinder Prices Increased Now?
The latest revision comes after a long gap. Domestic LPG cylinder prices had remained unchanged since April 2025, but the new increase reflects rising costs in the energy sector and adjustments in pricing policies.
The price hike applies nationwide and directly impacts millions of households that rely on LPG for daily cooking.

What Does This Mean for Household Budgets?
For households, the ₹60 increase means higher monthly cooking expenses. As LPG is an essential household fuel, the price hike could slightly increase the cost of living for many families.
