Government job aspirants in Uttar Pradesh finally have clarity. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has officially released its examination calendar for the 2026-27 recruitment cycle, outlining key dates for major state-level competitive exams.

If you are preparing for PCS, RO/ARO, teaching posts, technical services, or medical recruitments, this calendar is your roadmap for the year ahead. With exams scheduled from February through December 2026, candidates now have a clear timeline to structure their preparation.

Here’s everything you need to know in a simplified and exam-focused breakdown.

UPPSC Exam Cycle Begins February 2026

According to the official notification, UPPSC’s examination schedule will commence in early February 2026 and continue until the end of the year. The detailed schedule is available on the official UPPSC website.

The commission has scheduled examinations for administrative services, teaching positions, technical posts, and medical recruitments, making 2026 a packed year for aspirants across disciplines.

PCS Exam 2026: Key Dates Confirmed

The Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination, popularly known as PCS, remains the most awaited exam of the UPPSC calendar.

  • PCS Mains Examination: Begins March 29, 2026, and will be conducted over four days
  • PCS Preliminary Examination: Scheduled for December 6, 2026

Candidates aiming for administrative roles now have nearly a year to prepare strategically for the prelims stage.

Other Major UPPSC Exams in 2026

Apart from PCS, several important examinations are lined up:

  • Review Officer / Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) Mains: February 2-3, 2026
  • Assistant Prosecution Officer: Prelims on March 22 and Mains on June 17, 2026
  • Assistant Commissioner Mains: Starting June 28, 2026, across three days

These exams attract thousands of candidates annually due to stable career prospects and attractive pay structures.

Teaching and Academic Recruitment Exams

A large section of candidates preparing for teaching positions will also appear in crucial exams throughout the year.

The Staff Nurse Preliminary examination is set for March 17, followed by Assistant Teacher (TGT) Prelims on April 5, 2026. Subject-wise TGT Mains examinations will be conducted in phases during May and August.

Additionally, Polytechnic Lecturer and Assistant Professor recruitment tests will be conducted between August and October, offering opportunities in higher education institutions.

Technical, Medical, and Specialised Recruitments

UPPSC has also scheduled examinations for technical and medical departments, including:

  • Forest Services Examination: July 14-16, 2026
  • Veterinary Officer Examination: October 3, 2026
  • Food Safety Officer Examination: October 25, 2026
  • Drug Inspector Examination: October 26, 2026
  • Medical Officer Examination: December 18, 2026

These recruitments are significant for candidates from science, agriculture, and medical backgrounds.

Update on Technical Education Service Examination 2023

UPPSC has also issued an important update for candidates who appeared in the Technical Education (Teaching/Training) Service Examination 2023 conducted for instructor posts under the U.P. Khadi and Village Industries Board.

Candidates who appeared in the written examination held in September 2025 must now complete their conventional application process online starting January 30, 2026, through the UPPSC portal.

After completing online authentication using OTR credentials, candidates must send physical copies of their application forms along with the necessary documents.

The final date for submission is February 20, 2026, by 5:00 PM.

Applications can be submitted via registered post or directly at the UPPSC counter in Prayagraj.

Important Document Instructions for Candidates

Applicants must ensure proper documentation to avoid cancellation during verification. Required steps include:

  • Submission of printed application form with self-attested copies of mark sheets and certificates
  • Separate envelopes required for applications to multiple posts
  • Valid caste certificates must be supported by domicile certificates
  • For female candidates, caste certificates must be issued from the father's side

Any mismatch between online entries and submitted documents may lead to rejection.

A clear exam calendar allows candidates to plan preparation phases, revision cycles, and mock test schedules effectively. With multiple exams spread across the year, aspirants now have opportunities to target different recruitment channels instead of relying on a single examination.

Career experts recommend beginning preparation early, focusing on syllabus completion by mid-year, and dedicating the remaining months to revision and practice tests.

The UPPSC Exam Calendar 2026-27 sets the tone for one of the most competitive recruitment cycles in recent years. With PCS prelims set for December and numerous exams scheduled throughout the year, aspirants must plan smartly and start early.

Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official UPPSC website for updates, admit card releases, and notifications.

The countdown has begun. Preparation today will define success tomorrow.
