'Thamma' has a budget of over ₹125 crore. Despite crossing the ₹100 crore mark, it is becoming one of those films of 2025 that, despite being successful at the box office, failed to recover its budget. According to trade rules, a film must earn significantly more than its budget to be declared a hit. In this regard, the film can still be considered below average until it recovers its budget.

In "Thamma," journalist Alok (Ayushmann) meets the mysterious Tadka (Rashmika Mandanna) in the jungle. This encounter leads them into the world of dangerous vampires (Betaals) from folklore.

This film is the fifth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), which began with 'Stree' (2018).

  • MHCU films: 'Stree' (2018), 'Bhediya' (2022), 'Munjya' (2024), and 'Stree 2' (2024).
  • 'Thamma' has surpassed the lifetime collections of several previous MHCU films, though it still falls far short of 'Stree 2's record of ₹597.99 crore.
  • The next film, 'Bhediya 2', is in the works, starring Varun Dhawan.
