Security agencies in the national capital have been put on high alert following the Monday evening blast near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station. Security has also been beefed up for the Ranji Trophy match being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, located just a few kilometers from the Red Fort, where the Ranji Trophy Group D match between Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir is being played.
The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has taken strict security measures immediately following the incident. DDCA Secretary Ashok Sharma told news agency PTI,

Tightened Vigilance at Ranji Trophy Match
- The final day of the Ranji Trophy match will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday. Delhi Police have increased security checks both inside and outside the stadium. Metal detectors and additional CCTV cameras have been installed at entry gates, while the movement of players and spectators is being closely monitored.
- DDCA officials stated that additional vigilance is being maintained at the players' accommodations, as well as at the security facilities. Additional security teams have been deployed around the ground to respond quickly to any emergency.
Tense Turn in the Match

Police officials said that the ground and surrounding areas are being regularly checked and any suspicious activity will be dealt with immediately.
- This entire incident has made it clear that sporting events are no longer limited to on-field competition—security and vigilance have also become an important part of every major event.
