10 Important Facts About Republic Day 2026
1) Two Chief Guests - A historic move
Inviting two EU leaders together shows stronger ties between India and Europe.
2) 150 Years of Vande Mataram
The parade will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the national song.
3) Rare 1923 Paintings
Rare paintings from 1923 related to the song will be displayed.
4) 30 Tableaus (Jhankis)
There will be 30 tableaus, including:
- 17 from states/UTs
- 13 from ministries
5) Special Animals in Parade
The army will display:
- Bactrian camels (two-humped camels)
- Zanskar ponies (from Ladakh)
- Raptors (birds of prey)
6) No VIP or VVIP seats
- This year, seats will not be named VIP or VVIP.
- Instead, they will be named after Indian rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, and Kaveri.
7) Women Power and Drones
Women soldiers will participate more, and drones will also be shown in the parade.

The Air Force will display aircraft like:
- Rafale
- Sukhoi-30
- Tejas
9) Public Participation
Around 10,000 common citizens will be invited as special guests.
10) Operation Sindoor and Beating Retreat
A special tribute will be given to Operation Sindoor, and the Beating Retreat ceremony will be held on 29th January.
