PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025: Teams, Format & Schedule

The excitement for mobile esports reaches new heights as the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2025 gears up to begin on 25th July 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the Esports World Cup 2025. With 24 elite teams from across the globe and a $3 million prize pool, the stage is set at the iconic Qiddiya Esports Arena for an electrifying showdown.

PMWC 2025: Tournament Format and Dates

The competition spans from 25 July to 3 August, structured into three thrilling phases: Group Stage, Survival Stage, and Grand Finals.

Group Stage (25 – 27 July)

• 3 groups of eight will be formed from the 24 teams.
• Over 3 days, a total of 13 matches will be played.
• 6 matches will be play everyday, with each team playing 12 matches in total.
• The top 8 teams based on overall points will secure direct entry into the Grand Finals.
• After Group Stage the remaining 16 teams will move to the Survival Stage.

Survival Stage (29 – 30 July)

• The bottom 16 teams from the Group Stage will compete over 2 days.
• The top 8 teams that advance to the Grand Finals will be decided by a total of 12 matches, six each day.

Grand Finals (1 – 3 August)

• The 16 finalists (8 from Group Stage + 8 from Survival Stage) will battle across 18 matches for the ultimate crown.
• The tournament will culminate with the unique Smash Rule applied on the final day.

What is the PMWC 2025 Smash Rule?

The Smash Rule introduces a thrilling twist to the Grand Finals Day 3:

1. The Match Point Threshold is established following Match 12:

Top-ranked team’s points + 10.

2. This score makes any club "Match Point Eligible."
3. The winner will be the first qualified team to win a WWCD (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner).
4. On Day 3, a maximum of six matches may be played.
5. If no eligible team wins within those 6 matches, the team with the highest total points will take the title.
