Petrol Price Hike Today: The impact of escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East (West Asia) and the surge in crude oil prices in the international market has begun to manifest in the Indian fuel market. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have decided to hike the prices of premium petrol. However, as a matter of relief, this hike has not affected the 'regular' petrol used for daily commuting.

If you refuel your luxury car or high-performance bike with HPCL's 'Power', IOCL's 'XP95', or BPCL's 'Speed', you will now have to shell out more money. Oil companies have raised the prices of these premium variants by ₹2.09 to ₹2.35 per liter.
The companies state that the cost of premium products has risen due to international crude oil (Brent Crude) prices crossing the $100 mark and disruptions in the supply chain. This fuel is primarily used to ensure engine longevity and provide better pickup.
No Change in Regular Petrol Prices: Major Relief for Middle Class

The most positive aspect of this news is that there has been no change in the prices of regular (standard) petrol and diesel.
- Stability: Regular petrol prices have remained stable for quite some time now.
- Buffer Stock: Experts believe that, thanks to the existing old stocks held by oil companies and effective government coordination, the burden of inflation has not been passed on to the general public for the time being.
Note: This price hike applies only to vehicles that utilize high-octane fuel. The prices of regular petrol used in standard two-wheelers and mid-range vehicles remain unchanged.
