NCP Vice President Omar Abdullah took oath as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. After which, after a long wait of 5 years, a government elected by popular vote has been formed in Jammu and Kashmir.
For the first time after the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, a government has been formed in the state. NCP President Omar Abdullah has taken oath as the new Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday (16 October). The swearing-in ceremony was held at 11.30 am at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Center (SKICC) in Srinagar. Many leaders of the All India Alliance attended this swearing-in ceremony. These include Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Supriya Sule, Sukhbir Singh Badal, etc. President's rule was lifted from Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, after which the way was cleared for the formation of the first government in this union territory. Along with Omar Abdullah, his cabinet ministers were also sworn in by Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha.
Surinder Chaudhary has taken oath as the Deputy CM of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from this, Sakina Ittu and Javed Rana have also taken oath as ministers.
Let us tell you that after about 10 years, the Congress and National Conference alliance has won the assembly elections in the state. In the elections held on 90 seats in the state, the National Conference has won 42 seats and the Congress party has won 6 seats.
