The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially unveiled the JEE Main 2026 schedule, giving aspiring engineers across India a clear roadmap for the upcoming entrance examinations. With the exam set to be conducted in two sessions, students now have the flexibility to plan their preparation and registration ahead of time.

When Will JEE Main 2026 Be Conducted?

According to the official notification, JEE Main 2026 will be held in two sessions:

  • Session 1: Tentatively scheduled between January 21 and 30, 2026.
  • Session 2: Expected to take place from April 1 to 10, 2026.

This two-session approach allows candidates multiple opportunities to secure their best scores and reduces exam stress.

JEE Main 2026 Application Dates

The registration process is also set to begin soon:

  • Session 1 applications open in October 2025 on the official websites, jeemain.nta.ac.in.
  • Session 2 applications are expected to open in the last week of January 2026.

Simplified Registration with Aadhaar Integration

To streamline the process and minimise errors, NTA will auto-fetch key candidate details from the Aadhaar database through UIDAI. This includes:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Photograph
  • Address

This integration aims to ensure smoother verification and reduce discrepancies during registration.

How to Resolve Discrepancies?

Earlier, NTA had highlighted potential mismatches between Aadhaar details and school certificates. Candidates facing spelling errors or differing names should verify their documents carefully. Corrections can be made during the application process to avoid future issues.

NTA has announced an expansion in the number of JEE Main exam cities to accommodate more candidates nationwide. Additionally, special provisions will be available for Persons with Disabilities (PwD/PwBD), ensuring equitable access for all aspirants.

Previous Year Insights

In 2025, JEE Main followed a similar two-session schedule. The January session ran from January 22 to 30, and the April session was conducted between April 2 to 8. Registration had started on January 2, giving candidates ample time to prepare and select their exam centres.

With these updates, students can now mark their calendars, verify their documents, and plan an effective preparation strategy for JEE Main 2026.
