On this day, devotees perform havan puja along with the worship of Maa Siddhidatri and Kanya puja is also performed. The Navami of Navratri is celebrated as Maha Navami in some places and Durga Navami in others. Festivals like Saraswati Balidan, Ayudh Puja, Durga Balidan, etc. are also celebrated on this day.

Navratri Navami Puja Vidhi Step by Step
- Wake up early and cleanse yourself before starting the puja.
- Prepare the puja area; clean it thoroughly and arrange all necessary items such as idols, kalash, flowers, incense, and offerings.
- Begin with Havan preparation: collect Havan Samagri (sacred ingredients) and set up the Havan Kund. Light the sacred fire.
- Offer oblations (ahutis) into the Havan fire while chanting Durga mantras to invoke Goddess Siddhidatri or Maa Ambe.
- After completing the Havan, perform proper puja for Maa Siddhidatri—offer flowers, fruits, kumkum, turmeric, and sweets.
- Chant mantras and recite Durga Stuti or Durga Saptashati verses to seek blessings.
- Perform Aarti (lamp waving ceremony) to conclude the worship.
- Conduct Kanya Puja by inviting nine young girls, wash their feet, and offer them prasad like halwa, puri, chana, and gifts as a gesture of reverence.
- Break the fast with prasad after the puja.
- Maintain cleanliness, devotion, and peaceful mind throughout the puja.
