Kunal Patni is a distinguished professional who made a remarkable shift from a successful career in private banking to becoming one of India’s top professional poker players. In addition to his poker career, Kunal is a key figure in India's poker community, having led the Deccan Aces to victory in India's Poker Sports League as both captain and mentor. As the Executive Director and Country Head for Natural8 India, Kunal is dedicated to making the platform India’s leading destination for online poker.
After completing his MBA from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) in New Delhi in 2003, Kunal held key roles in prestigious companies like IIFL, HSBC, Anand Rathi, and the Aditya Birla Group. However, his growing passion for poker led him to transition fully into the game in 2015, marking the start of an illustrious poker career.
In his debut year as a professional poker player, Kunal was ranked as one of the top three players in India by the Global Poker Index (GPI). Over the years, he has continued to excel, winning titles at major tournaments such as the Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) in Macau, the Asian Poker Tour (APT), the World Poker Tour (WPT), and the U Series of Poker (USOP). His achievements include a notable 2nd place finish at the Berlin WPT DeepStacks in 2018 and a High Roller Finale win at the 2023 USOP in Hanoi.
Outside of work, Kunal enjoys watching movies, spending time with his cats, and is supported by his wife, Sonia Jain, a yoga teacher.
