KRAFTON India has officially announced its first-ever award ceremony dedicated to celebrating esports talent in India. The announcement was made on the final day of the BGMI International Cup (BMIC) 2025, an international tri-nation clash featuring India, South Korea, and Japan.
Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of KRAFTON India, revealed the KRAFTON India Awards 2025 along with a detailed esports roadmap for 2026. This move reflects KRAFTON’s commitment to developing and supporting India’s gaming and esports ecosystem at both grassroots and professional levels.
KRAFTON India Awards 2025: Date and Venue
The inaugural KRAFTON India Awards 2025 will take place in Mumbai on 9 January 2026.
This marks the first time KRAFTON India is organizing an awards night dedicated to gamers, professional esports athletes, gaming creators, and organizations.
The goal of the event is to recognize rising esports stars, top-performing teams, and influential gaming personalities who have contributed to the growth of the Indian gaming community.
BGMI Esports Roadmap for 2026
KRAFTON has also confirmed that the BGMI esports structure for 2026 will follow a similar format to 2025, featuring four major tournaments across the year.
1. BGIS 2026 - Battlegrounds Mobile India Series
- Open for All Players
- Registrations: End of December 2025
- Tournament Window: January – March 2026 (Tentative)
BGIS will continue to serve as the entry point for every aspiring BGMI esports player. Open qualifiers will give new teams a chance to showcase their skills on a national stage.
2. BMPS 2026 - Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series
- Tournament Window: May - June 2026
- Reward: Winner qualifies for the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 in Riyadh
BMPS will feature the top professional BGMI teams in India. This event decides which team represents India on the global esports platform.
3. BMSD 2026 — Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown
- LAN Event
- Tournament Window: August - October 2026 (Tentative)
BMSD returns as a LAN showdown, bringing the nation's strongest lineups under one roof to battle for supremacy.
4. BMIC 2026 — Battlegrounds Mobile India International Cup
- International LAN Finale
- Format: India vs South Korea vs Japan
- Tournament Window: October 2026 (Tentative)
BMIC will once again put India on the international esports map, hosting global rivals South Korea and Japan on Indian soil.
