The Jammu and Kashmir Police have uncovered a big terror plan after arresting Dr. Adil Ahmad Rathar. Based on his information, police found 350 kg of RDX explosives, two AK-47 rifles, and a large amount of ammunition from a house in Faridabad, Haryana. This recovery has helped stop a possible terror attack in the region.
How the Investigation Started
The case began when posters supporting the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) appeared in Srinagar on October 27. During the investigation, CCTV footage showed a man putting up the posters. The man was later identified as Dr. Adil Ahmad Rathar, a resident of Qazigund in South Kashmir.
Police arrested him on November 6 from a hospital on Ambala Road in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where he was working. During questioning, he revealed shocking details about his links and hidden weapons.
AK-47 Found in Doctor’s Locker
After his arrest, police searched the Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, where Dr. Adil had worked as a Senior Resident until October 2024. During the raid, they found an AK-47 rifle and bullets inside his locker.
Huge Recovery in Faridabad
Following the doctor’s confession, police raided the rented house of another doctor, Mufajil Shakeel, in Faridabad. There, they discovered 350 kg of RDX explosives, two AK-47 rifles, and a large stock of ammunition. Police believe these weapons were meant for a major terror attack in Haryana.
Investigation Underway
Police are now trying to find out Dr. Adil’s links with terror groups and identify others involved in the network. They are also investigating where the explosives came from and how they were to be used.
This joint action by Jammu and Kashmir Police and Haryana Police has likely prevented a massive terror attack. National security agencies are now helping with the ongoing investigation.
