The director himself has clarified.

This is not a remake or an adaptation of any film. A big part of the originality of the film is its powerful background score, which has been composed by the very talented Santosh Narayanan. His music perfectly matches the energetic tone and explosive visuals of this film, which increases the emotional impact of every scene.'
With the claims of the film being a remake, people started saying that when the original film is available on OTT, why go to theatres. However, the way people are making a ruckus about Salman's film, the same was done about Shahid Kapoor's 'Devo', which was a remake of the Malayalam film 'Mumbai Police'. The makers had said that the film is not a remake. But when it was released, the audience caught everything. And this caused damage to the movie and it flopped. Not only this, the same was seen with 'Baby John', which was a Hindi remake of Vijay's 'Theri' and that film is easily available in Hindi on YouTube. Now if the director himself says that Salman Khan's film is not a remake and if the audience catches even a little bit of plagiarism, then Bhaijaan can also suffer losses.
