Is Russia supplying drones to Iran for a war against the US and Israel?: The Kremlin has dismissed reports regarding Russia sending drones to Iran as false. On Wednesday (March 25, 2026), a report in the Financial Times claimed that Russia is supplying drones to Iran. In response, the Kremlin stated that these claims are untrue and, therefore, people should pay no heed to them whatsoever. Russia has been a key ally of Iran for years, and since the onset of the current conflict, Moscow has repeatedly denied providing military assistance to Tehran.
Russia is Assisting Iran:
A report states that the Kremlin has already provided intelligence and satellite imagery to its ally, Iran. Following the outbreak of the conflict on February 28, Russia is now preparing to deliver a consignment of drones to Iran by March 2026. The report further notes that since 2023, Russia has been manufacturing such drones—originally designed by Iran—for use in the ongoing war in Ukraine.
It is reported that the objective behind this shipment from Russia to Iran is to bolster Tehran's military capabilities and stabilize its government. Dismissing these reports as "fake," the Kremlin stated that it continues to maintain dialogue with the Iranian leadership.
These Weapons Are Extremely Effective for Iran—
A report claims that the Iranian-made 'Shahed' model drones have proven to be the most effective weapons for Tehran in this conflict. Due to their low cost and ease of manufacture, these drones hold immense significance for Iran. These drones can be utilized for reconnaissance, precision strikes, or large-scale attacks.
In addition to shipments of drones, some reports suggest that Russia is also providing non-military assistance to Iran, including food supplies, medical aid, and intelligence such as satellite imagery.
