- E-sports: This category includes games like GTA, Call of Duty, BGMI, Valorant, and FIFA. The government has recognized these games because no money is wagered to play them. These games are considered a skill-based activity in which players win by using their skills.
- Real-money games: Games like Dream11, MPL, Rummy, Poker, and Ludo King (in which money is wagered) fall into this category. Under the new law, these have been completely banned because money is wagered in them, which the government has put in the category of gambling. The government believes that such games cause financial harm to people by luring them into the greed for money.

After the implementation of the Online Gaming Bill 2025, Dream11 has shut down all its fantasy sports services with immediate effect. The company said in its official statement that they are shutting down their services following the rules of the government.

In Dream11, people used to invest money to form their cricket or football team, and if their team performed well, they would get more money. The company has assured its users that their account balance is completely safe and they can withdraw their money from the app. For this, you have to go to the app and click on the 'Withdrawal' option and enter your bank details and transfer the money to your account.
