Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max at its grand ‘Awe Dropping’ September event, alongside the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air.

Apple has introduced its most advanced smartphones yet, with the Pro models powered by the A19 Pro processor and iOS 26, fully optimized for Apple Intelligence AI. Packed with performance upgrades, improved durability, and professional-grade cameras, the new Pro lineup sets a new standard for premium devices

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: Pricing and Availability

The iPhone 17 Pro starts at 256GB storage and goes up to 1TB, while the Pro Max offers an exclusive 2TB option. In the US, pricing begins at $1,099 for the Pro and $1,199 for the Pro Max.

In India, the iPhone 17 Pro starts at ₹1,34,900, while the Pro Max begins at ₹1,49,900. Both models come in striking finishes — Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver.

Display and Durability Upgrades

The two Pro models offer 6.3-inch (Pro) and 6.9-inch (Pro Max) Super Retina XDR OLED displays, now with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits for unmatched outdoor visibility.

For durability, Apple introduces Ceramic Shield 2 on both the front and back, offering 3x scratch resistance and 4x crack resistance. ProMotion 120Hz and Always-On Display remain key features.

Processor, Battery, and Design

At the heart of the lineup is the A19 Pro chip, featuring a 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine, designed for AI, gaming, and advanced graphics. A vapour chamber cooling system helps maintain performance under heavy use.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max delivers the longest battery life ever on an iPhone, and both models support 40W fast charging, reaching 50% in just 20 minutes.

Camera System: Professional Upgrades

Both models feature three 48MP Fusion cameras with a redesigned telephoto lens. The Pro Max offers 8x optical zoom (200mm equivalent), the most powerful zoom ever in an iPhone.

A new 18MP Centre Stage front camera brings dual-capture recording, auto-framing, and wider fields of view. For professionals, Apple adds ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, Dolby Vision HDR, 4K at 120fps, and genlock support.

iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence

The iPhone 17 Pro series debuts with iOS 26, showcasing the sleek “Liquid Glass” design language and the integration of Apple Intelligence AI tools. Features include real-time translations, smart screenshot recognition, offline call filtering, and AI-driven assistance.

Apple ensures a privacy-first approach, keeping most processing on-device. Developers also gain APIs to integrate Apple Intelligence into third-party apps.
