The Amarnath Yatra 2025, one of India’s most sacred pilgrimages, has officially opened for registration, inviting thousands of devotees to undertake the blessed journey to the Amarnath Cave Shrine nestled in the Jammu and Kashmir Himalayas.

With the sacred ice lingam forming naturally each year inside the cave, the pilgrimage symbolizes unwavering faith, divine energy, and spiritual rebirth. Here's everything you need to know about the registration process, key dates, and safety guidelines for Amarnath Yatra 2025.

Amarnath Yatra 2025 Dates

  • Yatra Duration: July 25 to August 19, 2025
  • Registration Start Date: April 14, 2025
  • Maximum Daily Limit: 15,000 pilgrims

Due to terrain challenges and security protocols, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has set a cap on the number of pilgrims per day. Early registration is highly recommended as permits are issued on a first come, first-serve basis.

How to Register Online for Amarnath Yatra 2025

Step-by-Step Online Registration Process:

  • Visit the official SASB portal: https://jksasb.nic.in
  • Navigate to 'Online Services' on the homepage
  • Click on 'Yatra Permit Registration'
  • Tick 'I Agree' after reading the instructions
  • Click 'Register' and fill out the application form

Required Details:

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth and Gender
  • Aadhaar Number
  • Preferred Yatra Date and Route (Pahalgam/Baltal)
  • Valid Mobile Number (OTP verification required)
  • Passport-size photo
  • Scanned Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC)

Payment:

After submitting the form, a payment link will be shared via SMS or email. The registration fee is approximately Rs 220. Once the transaction is successful, the Yatra Permit can be downloaded directly from the portal.

How to Register Offline for Amarnath Yatra 2025

Offline Registration Centres Include:

  • Vaishnavi Dham, Jammu
  • Panchayat Bhawan, Jammu
  • Mahajan Hall, Jammu

Offline Registration Process:

  • Visit any authorized centre 3 days before your yatra date to collect a token slip
  • Next day, visit Saraswati Dham for health check-up and registration
  • On the same day, visit the RFID Card Centre in Jammu to collect your RFID card

Carry all required original documents, including photo ID, CHC, and passport-size photos.

Important Health and Safety Guidelines

Dos:

  • Acclimatize properly at high altitudes
  • Eat nutritious food and stay hydrated
  • Carry warm clothes and rain protection
  • Follow official announcements and advisories

Don’ts:

  • Do not consume alcohol or smoke during the yatra
  • Avoid caffeine and energy drinks
  • Do not ignore signs of mountain sickness
  • Avoid the yatra if you suffer from heart or lung conditions

The Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) is necessary to prove your fitness for the challenging altitude of 3,880 meters.
