Guru Purnima Puja Vidhi
On the day of Ashadh Purnima, wake up early in the morning and first of all take a bath and wear clean clothes. Although it is auspicious to take a river bath on this day. But if it is not possible, you can also take a bath by mixing Gangajal.
Collect the necessary items of worship like fruits, flowers, incense, lamps, offerings, water etc. Then light a lamp in the prayer room.
On the day of Ashadh Purnima, the worship of Lord Vishnu and Maa Lakshmi (Maa laxmi) is especially important. You can also worship your Guru or Ishta Dev. Also, Ved Vyas is also worshipped on Guru Purnima.
In the worship, first apply sandalwood tilak to the Lord and offer vermilion to Goddess Lakshmi. After this, offer fruits, flowers, worship material, offerings etc.
In the worship, definitely offer Tulsi leaves to Lord Vishnu. Without this, the worship of Lord Vishnu is incomplete. Finally, do the aarti of Lakshmi-Narayan.
After moonrise at night, see and worship the moon. Offer water to the moon and light incense sticks.

The reason for celebrating Guru Purnima on Ashadh Purnima is associated with Ved Vyas ji. According to mythology, Rishi Ved Vyas was born on this date. Ved Vyas is said to be the author of Mahabharata and Puranas. He divided and edited the Vedas into four parts. This day is very auspicious to get the blessings of Ved Vyas who is considered a Mahaguru. With the blessings of Ved Vyas ji, the darkness of ignorance is removed and the light of knowledge arrives in life.
