Moonwalk – JioCinema & Disney+ Hotstar
Directed by AK Vinod and backed by Lijo Jose Pelissery, Moonwalk is inspired by true events. Set in 1980s Kerala, the film is the story of a group of small-town youths who are obsessed with Michael Jackson and determined to master breakdancing. Despite balancing school and odd jobs, they overcome obstacles to enter a dance competition. The cast consists mostly of newcomers, including Shersha Sheriff and Anunath.
Hindi: The Hunt
The brutal assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the subsequent investigation form the core of this series. Directed by acclaimed director Nagesh Kukunoor, the series follows the team as they search for evidence, track down suspects, and as the criminals plan another major mission.
Malayalam: Narivetta (SonyLIV)
Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas stars in this entertaining film, which is based on the events that took place after a tribal protest broke out in Wayanad district of northern Kerala and the police deployment that followed. From the realistic portrayal of the tribal movement to the remarkable performances of the lead actors, this film is worth watching from start to finish. Filmmaker Anuraj Manohar has directed this Malayalam film, which also stars Tamil actor-director Cheran in the lead role.
Telugu: AIR
This Telugu series revolves around three youngsters who dream of getting admission in IIT. But when they get admission in a prestigious college, they face challenges far beyond education. Harsh Roshan is leading this series along with Bhanu Prakash and Jayatheertha. This series is making waves on Telugu OTT platforms and is becoming quite popular.
Kannada: Karki
Jai, who hails from a lower caste, joins a law college, meets Jyothi and develops a relationship with her. But her affluent family is not happy with this, and Jai has to bear the brunt of caste oppression. Directed by Pavithran, this Kannada film is a remake of acclaimed Tamil director Pa Ranjith's film "Pariyerum Perumal", which was praised for its touching story.
Tamil: Kaliyugam
This dystopian thriller takes the audience to the year 2064, where humans are struggling to get whatever food or water is left. Directed by Pramod Sundar, the film stars South Indian actress Shraddha Srinath and actor Kishore in the lead roles.
