Garena Free Fire players will soon receive a brand-new update. The developers have officially announced the release date for the Free Fire OB53 update, which will bring many new features, gameplay changes, and fresh content to the game.
Recently, Garena closed the Advance Server on April 2, 2026, where selected players tested the upcoming update. After testing and improvements, the developers are now ready to release the update for all players.

The Free Fire OB53 update will release on April 8, 2026. Before the update becomes available, the game will go under server maintenance in the morning. During this time, players will not be able to log in.
After maintenance ends, players can download the update from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
New Theme: Undersea Mystery
The OB53 update introduces a new theme called Undersea Mystery. In this theme, players can fish to collect supplies and buffs during tronmatches. Teams can also work together to capture Bubble Airdrops, which contain powerful rewards.
The underwater theme adds a new look and experience to the game.
Whale Plane
Another interesting feature is the Whale Plane. At the start of every match, the aircraft that carries players will look like a whale. This adds a fun and unique visual change to the game.
Undersea Realm on Bermuda Map
The update also adds a new area called the Undersea Realm on the Bermuda map. The entrance to this area will appear at Nurek Dam.
Inside the realm, players can find:

- High-tier loot

During the event, the High-tier Loot Zone will change into a Hydro Zone. This zone will be surrounded by large water walls.

- Players can pass through the water walls without taking damage

- Bullets can still pass through the water walls
- The zone contains high-tier loot
In-Match Preset Selection System
The update also adds a new Preset Selection system. Players can choose their presets and loadouts during the preparation phase before the match starts.

- Players can select Preset 1 to Preset 5
- Loadouts can be changed early in the match
- Active and passive skills cannot be changed once the match begins
- Using a loadout will lock preset editing for the rest of the match
- Players ranked Heroic and above will automatically see the preset page when the match starts
Enhanced Quick Messages System
The OB53 update also improves the Quick Messages system.
Players can quickly send messages like:
- Strike
- Retreat
- Hold Position
This makes communication faster and helps teams work better together during fights.
