Fight in cricket match: A video has gone viral on social media in which a batsman and bowler are seen fighting with each other during a local cricket tournament. The incident took place during the final of the MCC Weekdays Bash XIX between Aerovisa Cricket and Rabdan Cricket Club last week.
In the viral clip, Rabdan Cricket Club batsman Kashif Muhammad and Aerovisa Cricket bowler Nasir Ali are seen punching each other while players and umpires from both teams try unsuccessfully to separate them.
According to a report by NDTV, the incident took place on the last ball of the 13th over when Nasir took Kashif's wicket. Nasir celebrated vehemently after dismissing the batsman and tried to provoke him repeatedly. The batsman did not react initially and started walking away. However, Nasir continued to celebrate in a ridiculous manner in front of Kashif, which made him red with anger. What followed was a very WWE fight. Both of them jumped on each other with the intention of hitting.
An incident similar to the one described above was witnessed during a local cricket match in Bermuda in September 2015. In the final match of the local event played between Cleveland County Cricket Club and Willow Cuts Cricket Club at the St David Cricket Club ground, two players from opposite camps got into a fight.
According to a report by India TV News, Cleveland wicketkeeper Jason Anderson first punched opposition batsman George O'Brien. An angry O'Brien tried to hit the wicketkeeper on the head with his bat in response. The fight between the two escalated so much that the support staff as well as the police had to enter the field to calm the situation.
After this shocking incident, the Bermuda Cricket Board found Anderson guilty of a Level 4 breach of the code of conduct and imposed a lifetime ban on him. At the same time, O'Brien was charged with a Level 3 breach and was banned for six months.
