Through XChat, Elon Musk has made it clear that he sees X as an all-in-one digital platform, not just a social network.
Elon Musk XChat launched: Now chatting will be even easier, calling without phone number
Making another big bang in the world of technology, Elon Musk has launched a new messaging feature XChat on the X platform. Through this new chatting system, users will now get more privacy, strong security and a very easy interface experience.
What is XChat?
XChat is the new inbuilt chat feature of the X platform which is currently available to some paid subscribers. In this, users will get the option to send vanishing messages with end-to-end encryption, that is, messages that disappear automatically after some time.
The biggest feature is that now you will not need a phone number to make audio and video calls through it. That means now both chatting and calling will be possible through just one X account and that too on all devices.
Strong encryption and privacy
Elon Musk has claimed that XChat has been built on a new encryption architecture based on Rust. He has called it 'Bitcoin style encryption', which makes it clear that the company has not compromised on security.
Apart from this, users will also get the option to set a four-digit PIN code to keep their chats and data safe. This will make your chatting more secure than before.
Even though XChat is currently in beta version, according to reports, the feature of group chat will also be added to it. Along with this, if you want, you can leave any chat without reading it, that is, you will also get the option to keep it 'unread'. File sharing will also be easier now because XChat will allow sending any type of file.
At present, the initial version of XChat has been given to only a few selected paid users. But it is expected that soon it will be rolled out for all X users.
Musk's 'Everything App' vision
XChat is also being linked to Musk's big plan in which he wants to make X an 'everything app' i.e. a single app for everything. From social media to payment, calling, and now chatting, X is gradually becoming a multifunctional platform.
Through XChat, Elon Musk has made it clear that he is looking at X not just as a social network, but as an all-in-one digital platform. With a focus on new technology, privacy and user experience, XChat is going to give a new look to chatting.
