There’s a peculiar silence that follows a storm at the box office. For weeks, Dhurandhar 2 wasn’t just a film; it was an event. The kind that dominates conversations, floods social media, and makes even casual moviegoers feel like they’re part of something big. But now, on Day 21, the numbers are telling a different story. Not a collapse, far from it, but a natural, almost inevitable slowdown after rewriting records.

Day 21 Box Office

The Dhurandhar 2 box office Day 21 collections have dipped below the crucial Rs 10 crore mark for the first time since release. According to early estimates, the film earned around Rs 7.90 crore net in India, with gross figures hovering near Rs 9.46 crore.

For a film that spent nearly three weeks comfortably above double digits, this drop is significant, not alarming, but symbolic. It marks the transition from explosive momentum to a steadier, mature phase of its theatrical run.

And yet, context is everything. Even at its lowest, Dhurandhar 2 is outperforming most films in their peak weeks.

To understand the scale of success, you need to zoom out. In Week 1, the film earned Rs 674.17 crore, followed by Rs 263.65 crore in Week 2, and in Week 3 so far, it has crossed over Rs 100 crore. The film’s third-week total stands at approximately Rs 103 to 110 crore, which, by industry standards, would be a dream opening week for many big-budget releases.

The dip in collections in Week 2 and Week 3 isn’t surprising. High-octane blockbusters often front-load their earnings, especially when driven by massive hype and fan anticipation. What matters is sustainability, and Dhurandhar 2 has shown plenty of it.

Interestingly, Dhurandhar 2 is not outperforming its predecessor in every aspect. On Day 21, the original Dhurandhar reportedly earned around Rs 25 crore, significantly higher than the sequel’s Rs 7.90 crore.

Even Week 3 comparisons lean in favour of the original, which closed its third week at approximately Rs 172 crore. The sequel, despite its massive overall total, is showing sharper declines in the later stages.

This contrast highlights a key shift while Dhurandhar 2 opened bigger and scaled higher peaks, its legs, especially in the third week, are comparatively shorter.

Crossing Rs 1,000 Crore

If there’s one headline that defines Dhurandhar 2, it’s this: it has crossed Rs 1,000 crore net in India. With a total of approximately Rs 1,041.27 crore net domestically, the film has officially become the highest-grossing Bollywood film in India, surpassing long-standing benchmarks.

Globally, the numbers are just as staggering, with India gross at Rs 1,246.67 crore, overseas collections at Rs 407 crore, and a worldwide total of Rs 1,653.67 crore. This isn’t just success, it’s dominance. The film’s overseas performance, in particular, has been exceptional, crossing Rs 400 crore and setting new standards for Indian films in international markets excluding China.

In a rare crossover moment for Indian cinema, Dhurandhar 2 has entered the Top 10 highest-grossing films worldwide in 2026.

With earnings exceeding USD 177 million globally, it currently sits among major international releases, just behind Hollywood and Chinese heavyweights.

This achievement isn’t just about numbers, it’s about visibility. It signals a growing global appetite for Indian storytelling, especially when backed by scale, star power, and strong cinematic appeal.

The film has already shattered one of Indian cinema’s most iconic records, overtaking Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’s lifetime India net collection of approximately Rs 1,030 to 1,033 crore.

However, the race isn’t over. One major benchmark still looms large, Pushpa 2, which holds a staggering Rs 1,234.10 crore net collection in India and Rs 1,471.10 crore gross.

To claim the ultimate crown, Dhurandhar 2 would need another Rs 200 crore, a challenging feat given the current slowdown.

And then there’s Dangal, whose global dominance remains untouched. Trade analysts widely believe that while Dhurandhar 2 has had a phenomenal run, surpassing Dangal’s worldwide total is unlikely at this stage.

For nearly three weeks, Dhurandhar 2 enjoyed a rare luxury: a solo run at the box office. Competing releases either postponed or avoided direct clashes, allowing the film to maximise its reach. But that window is closing.

With Bhoot Bangla, a horror comedy starring Akshay Kumar, set to release on April 16, the box office dynamics are about to shift. Fresh content often diverts audience attention, especially in urban centres where repeat viewership drives late-stage collections.

The next week will be crucial. It will determine whether Dhurandhar 2 can maintain steady earnings or witness a sharper decline under competition.

The Dhurandhar 2 box office Day 21 dip is not a sign of failure; it’s the natural curve of a blockbuster that has already achieved extraordinary success.

From record-breaking openings to crossing Rs 1,000 crore and making a mark globally, the film has done what very few manage to accomplish. The current slowdown simply reflects audience saturation after an intense theatrical run.

In the larger picture, Dhurandhar 2 isn’t just a hit, it’s a milestone. And even as its daily numbers soften, its legacy at the box office is already cemented.

The only question now is not whether it’s successful but just how far it can go before the curtains finally fall.
