Delhi residents should brace for a sharp change in the weather from tomorrow. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Delhi and NCR on January 27, warning of light rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds. The alert signals potentially disruptive weather conditions, urging people to stay cautious and prepared.

According to IMD’s latest update, January 27 may begin with gusty winds blowing at speeds of 30-40 kmph, especially during the early morning to forenoon hours. Along with this, light rain and thunderstorms are expected to sweep across parts of the national capital.

Later in the afternoon and evening, Delhi could see another spell of very light to light rainfall, which may further cool down temperatures and impact daily movement.

Recent Temperature Trends in Delhi

In the past few hours, Delhi recorded:

  • Maximum temperatures: Between 16°C and 19°C
  • Minimum temperatures: Around 4°C to 5°C

These readings are below normal for this time of the year, especially the night temperatures. Skies remained mostly clear earlier, with northwesterly winds touching speeds of up to 20 kmph.

The weather department has advised citizens to remain alert and take precautionary steps by staying indoors as much as possible, closing doors and windows during thunderstorms, avoiding unnecessary travel, keeping track of official weather updates, and being ready to move to safer places if conditions worsen.

With a Yellow Alert in place, Delhi’s weather is set to remain unpredictable over the next few days. Light rain, strong winds, foggy mornings, and chilly temperatures may affect daily routines. Staying informed and cautious will be key as winter continues to show its intensity in the capital.
