Canada Officially Declares Lawrence Bishnoi Gang a Terrorist Entity, Targets Criminal Network: The Canadian government has designated the Bishnoi gang as a terrorist organization. Public Safety Minister Gerry Anandsangaree said the move is part of efforts to combat terrorism in Canada and globally.
Action against the Bishnoi Gang:
The Bishnoi gang has now been declared a terrorist group under Canada's Criminal Code. This means the gang's assets, vehicles, and funds can be seized or confiscated in Canada. Local authorities say this will help law enforcement agencies prevent terrorism-related crimes, such as money laundering, travel, and recruitment.
The Bishnoi gang primarily operates from India and has influence in Canada. The gang commits murders, shootings, and arson, and terrorizes communities by spreading fear and intimidation. Designating it a terrorist group will make it easier for police and security agencies to address its crimes.
What did the Minister of Public Safety say?
Gerry Anandsangaree said, "Every person in Canada has the right to feel safe. The Bishnoi gang has intimidated and terrorized certain communities. Listing it will help us prevent their crimes." With the inclusion of the Bishnoi gang, there are now 88 listed terrorist organizations in Canada.
